Jacked up prices by 50% since the Cubesmart corporate takeover. They added a layer of paint, true, but the outside light has been out for just about a year now. Oh, and the rats. The rats. They are breeding them. Apparently. Guess we'll move out, but only after very thoroughly disinfecting every item currently in storage. The picture shows a loverly arragement of dead flies and rat droppings. EDIT: The price increase is one thing. Annoying but everybody does that. Do note that the corresponding quality decrease and the new animal husbandry practice are not addressed by the automated response below.

There was supposed to be a welcome kit in my unit for a no contact rental but there was not. All of the lights anywhere near my storage unit are not working so it is dark and not safe at night. The keypad is not well lit and they did not give me my gate code until the next day. I had to call their customer service line two or three times just to have them tell me which unit had an available welcome kit and they had me walk all over the property looking for one. And that is just for starters. If I could give it zero Stars I would.

I set up autopay a couple years ago. But the card expired this year. Tried to set it up again using a new card on the website but it blocks the attempt to add another card and won't allow deletion of the previous card. Called the site manager. No help. The site itself if overgrown with weeds. The exit gate does not work at all. You have to get out of your truck, walk through the pedestrian gate to the outside keypad, punch in your code to open then gate, then climb back in your truck and drive out. They replaced the exit keypad on the inside of the gate with a "magnetic" sensor buried under the concrete. It only detects cars, not trucks with high clearance like a box truck. The site itself is overgrown with weeds, trash all over. Originally I was paying about $290/mo for two units (10x10 and 10x20). But the rental rates have increased dramatically to nearly $500/mo since Cubesmart took over. I finally had enough. Moved all my stuff down the street and got a cleaner place with proper keypads for entrance and exit for 1/5 the rate.

I found renting a unit at this temporary storage facility to be a serious mistake. Overpriced rental, fake insurance billing added to increase cost to customers, and overall careless management. The oligopoly control over temporary-storage in the United States is surely a very serios antitrust matter

Worst storage facility I've ever used. I've been a customer here for 10 years. In that time the place has been sold multiple times. Each time the new owner calls me and tells me I'm no longer set up for automatic payments. Normally the new owner sets up autopay for me over the phone. The current owner made me set up autopay myself over the internet. I work 10 hour shifts and they always call while I'm at work. I produce a nationally syndicated radio show also. I set up autopay as soon as I was able to but they made me pay late fees even though I'm a 10 year customer who has set up autopay multiple times! The roof was replaced a few years ago and the doors had to be replaced also. The facility is in bad shape. The alleys are too narrow for a truck to turn in. The price has gone up significantly almost every year. Be smart and move further away from Dallas and save a fortune. The best thing you can do is buy a shipping container and put your stuff in there. It's a larger initial investment but a much better solution. I am moving my stuff out of this facility as soon as possible... Update 25 Aug 2020 Life Storage has now added MANDATORY insurance which will raise the rent yet another $10 per month!

Pretty straightforward storage facility. 6 a.m. I think to 9 p.m. access. I have an indoor unit that is unconditioned but really is almost as if it were conditioned due to where I'm located. $60 for a 5 x 10.

Charlie is the nicest guy in the world. The buildings are really clean and have good lighting. I had a unit with a different company in South Austin and it was pretty scary. I also had a unit with a different company in South Dallas and it was sad too. Inself Plano is like a 5 star hotel compared to those 2 places. If you need storage, talk to Charlie.

I've rented at this facility for 1 1/2 years. I especially love Sandra, the manager. She is simply the best manager I have ever met. She is helpful, competent and professional. I moved under difficult circumstances and she made my transition so much easier. There are so many choices for storage, but there are none where you will get more personal service. When you call, you get a person, not a machine. She will quickly learn your name and treat you like a member of the family. The facility is an older facility, but it is well-maintained and there are many construction projects to improve it. Another important consideration for me was security and they have made every effort to ensure the security of my property by installing several dozen security cameras and having many other measures in place to keep my property safe. If you want a family atmosphere, and a fair price that is straight-forward without hidden fees and constant rate hikes, I highly recommend In Self Storage.

I rented a 5x5 storage unit for about 7 months, and was very pleased. The building was very clean, and the unit was very reasonably priced. I shopped around for a little while before deciding on a storage facility, and I decided on this one because it is located near my home, and the price was lower than other comparable units in the area. I was also pleased with the service provided by Stephanie, the building manager. If you are looking for an inexpensive unit at a nice location, this one would be a great fit.

I am updating my review, today is 10/19/2020, since this Storage facility has recently been purchased by LifeStorage. The new manager, Amy, is a very friendly and helpful person. She is energenic and always looks to best serve her customers. Life storage is upgrading the property and repairing several areas. As with new owners policies and prices change. This is a 40 year old facility; it is still clean. For large vehicles and trailers it can be difficult to maneuver. It can be hard to locate. Security is good with a multi-camera surveilance system. I am glad this place still meets my needs. I have used the Assured Self Storage on Shiloh Road for several years and I am happy with my experience. This is an older facility yet it is maintained, clean and pest free. The present manager, Stephanie, is a joy. She finds solutions and helps in understanding all storage issues. This storage facility has been a first stop for many store managers within this growing company. Consequently, I have experience several new store managers as well as corporate interim managers. From the first to the latest, they have kept this facility clean. From discussions with other longer termed customers, I have found this was not always so. Because this is an older facility the color scheme is different and amenities such as electrical power or climate control are not available in the storage units. I have not found this to be an issue but, if you need these, Assured has a newer and larger facility on 14th Street across from Pecan Hollow golf course. Mary, the manager there is also quite helpful. This location meets my needs, the management is friendly and helpful and the environment is clean and pest free.
