They will keep raising rent and not honor the online price. They do not care about long term renters they just try to sucker new ones in and hope that it is too much of a pain to change facilities. Not even one single dolly in the entire facility for you to use. Search for storage elsewhere. Corporate run and they don’t care about you

When someone is not a business owner, or involved in the realities of the day-in and day-out functions of "any" business, they may or may not fail to realize that it is the "people" of "any" company that distinguishes it. (Let me say this another way ... the "People" are the most valuable asset of any company.) Such is the case with CubeSmart on Blackhawk Boulevard of Houston, Texas. The two individuals that I met there are some of the most genuine and warm people that I have encountered. I appreciate sincerity because at the end of the day, all we really have are each other. (Unfortunately, the only time that we recognize this is during a major crisis ... Let something "bad" happen, and that same person that would not speak to you, will be oh so glad to receive your helping hand.) Please read before you rent through this facility. I have been here since May and my experience was good until my generator was stolen October 25th. I was not notified till October 27th through a text message. Which is very unacceptable!!! You have random people coming in and out driving around. This place is not secure especially when you pay a pretty good amount of money to rent here. The entire time I thought Russ was the manager of this property, as he very well deserves to be. So I ask to speak to (Mike) the manger he never did he call me back. Now I see they have another manager. This place is poorly managed and they will go up on your rent by 20%. Management (Mike) just wants your money here. If you don’t want your stuff to get stolen. I would suggest you find another place. Since my incident there have been two other incidents. Beware! Especially because we are coming up on the holidays. Thank you Russ for your hard work it never went unnoticed. I only wish you would have been over things here, because I know and see you work hard for this business, and you truly take care of your customers. I hope you find an employer who truly values your hard work because Cube Smart Is not it!

Audiovend is a rental business that services the Audio Visual community. I am the head Audio Engineer at Church of Champions and NRG Stadium. At the Church of Champions we needed an extra In Ear Monitor System for a guest singer. Greg at Audiovend has lots of awesome wireless products including the Shure 900 series IEM system I needed. Greg also brought a wealth of knowledge and offered to take any phone calls on Sunday morning to ensure the system worked flawlessly with all the other wireless mics and IEM systems. The system worked beautifully on Sunday. The rental price was very reasonable, and in the future I will be recommending Audiovend to anyone else who might need wireless mics, or FM transmitters, or anything else that could be wireless. I'm sure they have it. Greg also recommend a great burger place very close to his shop, when I asked him about lunch nearby. I trust Greg at Audiovend. Also as a longtime touring Audio Engineer / Broadcast Engineer / Recording Engineer .. it's important to have people like Greg in your contact list to help solve complex wireless issues when it counts!

my unit was vandalized and broken into on july 14 and my motorcycle along with 3 of my helmets were stolen, come to find out there's only 2 cameras in the facility... 1 of which is USELESS at night. Cube smart lacks accountability and I believe the employees are responsible. If you value your items do not store them here., THIS is my first break in, and I've been here 3+ years. Now I have to pick up the pieces and start all over because cubesmart does not have any security, and does not require the people who live on premises to do anything but live there. There's no way to view how my items were stolen because 1 of 2 cameras cannot see anything once the sun goes down not that it would help anyways since there's no other cameras much less on the units themselves, there's no lights at the front gate and there's no other cameras facing any of the units. Heaven forbid someone gets physically harmed, you'd have no way to catch anyone or see how it happened. You'd think they'd at least want to protect their own interests and avoid law suits or insurance issues with their own employees. I had my motorcycle at my home for over 2 weeks, I bring it to storage on Monday and by Tuesday it's STOLEN. coincidence? no. Their employee saw me do it, he even mentioned he seen me come in and he's a rider. When I asked him what he rides he listed a series of sport bikes, which I would highly doubt. I am disgusted by the lack of security and continuous failure to help further. The only positive part of this traumatic experience was the help from the district manager, but even that has been miniscule at best due to the "corporate" rules and limitations. I use the term corporate loosely, it's literal mendacity, since I have more cameras in my 2 bedroom apartment than this "corporate" facility housing millions of dollars in belongings has. What corporate business only has 2 cameras and only 1 that actually can be seen after dark? What corporate facility has ZERO cameras facing the units to see activity not to mention one outdated small monitor to view the 1 visible camera footage? THIS HAS BEEN A NIGHTMARE AND I ADVISE EVERYONE TO LOOK ELSEWHERE. I have now toured 5 other facilities to provide feedback to the heitman group which owns the property and have taken pictures of the multiple MULTIPLE cameras that are facing every way that can see the units, they are visible on the gates and the corners of the rows of units also, at the very least offering a simulation of security for their tenants lives and belongings If I could give less than one star I would. DO NOT COME TO CUBE SMART ON BLACKHAWK

My mother passed away early in July 2020 and she had a storage unit at this office. The staff here was wonderful and helpful the entire way through the process of gaining access to the unit, including cutting the locks and helping my family empty and close the unit after hours. This happened during the COVID concerns and they all wore masks during the process, and they provided us with cold water while we baked in the 110 degree heat. I specifically want to acknowledge manager Russ Johnson and district manager Mike Ocegueda for their kindness and helpfulness in this tough time. I do not live in Texas and only had a short period to marshall together my mother's assets - I truly would not have been able to complete everything if it had not been for their kindness.

After booking a spot online (and paying) we pulled our RV to the location only have a terrible experience. The attendant on site did not help us find our spot. Once we went back inside and asked they put on us in an uncovered spot on a rock lot (we had paid for covered parking). We explained this and the manager said there is also an issue between the call center booking and then. She went back and forth and couldn’t find anywhere covered for us to put our camper. I had to call the call center and get them on the phone before we were given a covered spot. I requested a GM call back and still have not received it. We were there for 2 hours just trying to park our camper. We would have left except we had already paid. Terribly unorganized and poor customer service.

Okay, so to get straight to the point, the "STAR of the show" for me at this Blackhawk location was GUDRUN. She single handedly made my experience a memorable one and in my opinion, SET THE BAR for CUSTOMER SERVICE. Even though it was at the end of her shift, where most people tend to "fizzle out" and short change you on being helpful and informative all together.. She exercised the highest level of composure & kindness after having some problems unlocking a unit. She was also very persistent on showing me any unit I was interested in viewing while having no problems answering any & every question I had. THEN! On top of that, she very patient going over pricing and comparing different options to ensure I was getting the BEST possible deal the company had to offer! I will definitely be recommending GUDRUN and CubeSmart Self Storage, 5 STARS All The Way!

They are so awesome! They helped us get into a unit when we were moving back to Houston from Florida after Harvey. Literally called on the drive to Houston because we needed a unit immediately as soon as we got in town. We were driving a 26' Uhual. On the way to Houston we had some car issues that caused us to stay in Louisiana a few days. That meant we needed to return the uhaul truck as soon as we got to Houston so we wouldn't be charged. The manager was so helpful in getting us three units next to each other and made the whole process less stressful for us. We got to Houston and went straight into the storage units to unload. They continue to be amazing as we now move our belongings out. We needed to consolidate to one unit and they were so helpful in getting us into a better rate single unit! Highly recommend!

I'm actually not big on preserving stuff I can't live with day by day. But in recent years, my main focus has been on caring for my life partner, wife, best friend--as she coped with the challenges of Alzheimer's dementia. She graduated from that struggle in April, a struggle that saw us move from a house to assisted living to a group home where hospice helped ease her last days. What's stored is the residue of that history, and CubeSmart has been a very helpful partner--efficient, courteous, and helpful. If one must 'store,' CubeSmart Self Storage on Blackhawk is a fine place, with a fine staff, to do what must be done.

I've been meaning to write this review for weeks now and kept getting interrupted so today, I shut the door to get this done. Having been in the "service" industry for nearly 30 years, I know all too well how people are generally quick to criticize and slow to praise... if at all. Well, some folks just deserve the praise as they work day in and day out with little of it. Three of those folks are Steve and Ursula Adams and Barbara who are "taking care of business" at your Blackhawk facility in the south Houston area. About six months ago, my wife and I sold our home in the country (Rosharon, TX) and moved back into the big city. Let's just say it's been an experience and I came to realize when such a move is made, you must carefully consider all the storage space you typically have in a rural area with barns, sheds, garages and out-buildings you simply won't have "in-town" where people live on top of each other and you can shake hands with your next-door-neighbor from inside your home ! It was at that time when I had the pleasure of meeting Steve, Ursula and Barbara. To give you some idea of what I was (am) faced with, this one move took over 5 weeks just to get the belongings from one location to the other. (The organizing of those belongings once moved continues to this day, Geez!) That being said, I rented a 20' unit, then 10', then another 10' and finally a 30' with the idea I could move over the items in the two 10' and gain another 10' by getting the 30'. I know this sounds crazy and it was (is) but I just simply had no idea how much one could accumulate over the years. I have to say, over the past few months, the obstacles and challenges I've had to face in this effort to "downsize" would have been totally overwhelming save the fact that Steve, Ursula and Barbara have been and continue to be so wonderfully accommodating and made every effort to provide the items and services needed to ease my mind and make them one less thing I had to worry about. I can state without reservation, the value to a customer in having a company's employee take a legitimate interest in someone else's problem(s) makes them an asset to the company beyond compare. You are blessed to have three of those "assets" at this one location on Blackhawk Blvd. in Houston and there's not enough words to express my gratitude and thanks for having them there. Okay, got this off my "to-do" list....next up....go pay rent on a unit !!!! Have a great day !

Absolutely luv the Blackhawk location Mr.Steve / Ms. Ursula are a pleasure to work with, staff has excellent customer service skills and will accommodate you in every way and the property is always neat / clean ! I've used this location for three yrs and never once had an issue with my belongings nor have I had any one tamper with my locks... property is always supervised ! If you ever need a safe place to put your valuables this is definitely the place to go, you will not be disappointed !!!

I was at your Blackhawk location inquiring about renting a unit (first time i would rent storage) and wanted to let you know Steve and Ursula are a great asset to your company. I have been to a number of different storage places and have not felt this welcome by any of them. Their sincerity, making sure i understood the process of what it takes to acquire a unit and ease of access to your location, cleanliness are things which will determine and most likely make it an easy choice for me to select your location. I had no problems and actually thought they were great, i paid every month for almost 1 year, but unfortunately that changed once I gave notice to cancel my storage. DO NOT set up automatic pay. They are still taking an automatic draft from my account although I moved out over 1 month ago.. I have had difficulty reaching anyone a the Blackhawk site and I have left several messages and called the service center to no avail., but this is not over.....

The staff are very helpful and patient. They even suggested the perfect-sized storage unit for me, even though I thought I needed a bigger one, reducing my cost, which I truly appreciate.

I have had the most awesome experience here at the Blackhawk location! When my Dad passed away, and I had to move his belongings here, everything went wrong until I walked through their doors!!! They are the most friendly and helpful people in the world! Treated me like family through that rough time! Absolutely recommend them!!!
