Jaime is so awesome to work with. I really needed to downsize to another unit as I get rid of some things and honestly the cost of the larger unit was just too costly. Jaime spoke with me on what my options were to transfer into another unit and I was able to get it all moved so seamlessly. Don’t be fooled by the WEB price. After moving in only 2 months later they raised our rate $100.00. After complaining they lowered it to a $50 increase. Then a couple months later they raised the rate again $100 this time without any notice. Be WARNED DO NOT trust the web price as it is only good for the initial month!!!!! We still haven’t been here a year and the price increased $150. Not sure about you. It that’s tough on anyone’s Wallet !!!!!!!! Allen location: 2129 Chelsea Rd. Allen, TX 75013

Due to the size I was renting it increased three times within a year from 130 to 280. The rep at the location stated because of the unit size they can increase the monthly rent due to the unit of my size was all filled. I was told that they could get more than 280 a month because this size was unavailable. But their website stated something different. Of course, I found another location that only increases annually. Next you will get these automated messages stating sorry for the increase from the owner….lol

Extra space storage has been amazing. Was told I had six months to move got reduced to 1 month after selling the house. Needed a place to put my things temporarily so I looked online and extra space storage was the first one I clicked on. The only online price was at least $15/mo cheaper than anyone else it’s in a controlled environment and it also gives me 24 hr access to my things. I filled out a short 4 page application online around midnight. Walked into the office at 9:30am the next morning signed the agreement they handed me my lock showed me where my space was and that was it. Completely hassle free and zero paper work made my day. The man who works at this facility is extremely rude and condescending to their paying customers. My mother has had several encounters with this individual and every single one has been negative, for no reason at all other than he chooses to be unpleasant. There is no need to treat people this way especially where there’s a storage facility on every corner. You think they’d show a little more hospitality and respect, but only rent here if you want to feel belittled at every visit.

I am very disappointed with extra space storages price policy. We locked in our rate in March at the online rate which was not a promotional rate as we had made sure if that. We signed the contact which was month to month per their own policy even though I had stated that I would need storage for 6 months to a year. 3 months in and I just received a notice from them that states my cost will be going up by $100/month. That seems so unfair knowing that we have no choice now given we have stored furniture and it’s not easy to move out. I wish they would have stated that in the beginning and we would have worked with another company or find alternative solution where we could place our stuff knowing that prices at extra space would fluctuate this significantly and this soon. Update: thank you for your response as I left this review after speaking with you/ team member on that phone number. As I mention in my original post it’s not an easy option for us to just move to other unit as I have furniture stored there that I had to hire movers to move into the storage.

We absolutely loved using extra space storage, we have used other storage units before and this was by far the best experience. It was extremely clean, anytime with questions there seemed to be answers within a few minutes. The check in and check out process were by far the easiest we’ve ever had to deal with. 100% would use extra space storage again!

I just can’t say enough how awesome this location is. Everyone that I speak to is extremely helpful. Andrew helped me out so much today! He is extremely professional and has top notch customer service. He helped me out with moving into a smaller unit and answered every inquiry that I had. (Trust me- it was a lot of questions and calls from my end! Haha!) Andrew is very patient and understanding and walked me through the whole process. This is the reason I have stayed at this location for years! It’s super clean and the staff is amazing. Shoutout to Dan, Adam, and Chuck who are always consistent with customer service as well! I used to pay $171 and now am paying $215…… because they said that costs are going up….Really??? I call BS- show me what costs have increased. There’s one guy that runs the place. I highly doubt their rent has increased, they have motion lights, so I doubt their electric bill has increased…The place is at 90% occupancy. They’re just taking advantage of us the consumer to line their own pockets. Can’t wait until I can take my stuff out of there. Also- the only reason this place has several 5 star reviews is because the guy at the front desk basically harasses you the whole time to give him a five star review.

Two years ago I received the best service from Mike who was the manager of this location at the time. I had such a great experience that although the rates were slightly higher than the competitors in the area, I was planning to be a returning customer. I initially spoke to Mike but found out he was managing a new location that is slightly further away. Even in this interaction, Mike provided exceptional service and I felt valued as a potential customer. However my experience with Extra Space Storage completely changed the moment I spoke with Chuck who happens to be the current manager of this location. I called and pleasantly mentioned that I had recently stopped by and no staff were available. I wish the call was recorded because he then went on a very rude and unprovoked rant saying that I should’ve seen the sign that was on the door saying he was away on the property and that he can’t just sit in the office all day, etc. (fyi, there was no sign in the door). In these days of staffing shortages, that is completely reasonable and I was not concerned about no one being available when I went there. However, his tone during this rant was beyond unprofessional and condescending. I was in complete shock from how rude he was. After sharing concerns over how he spoke to me, he apologized and then said, “but what do you want me to do about it?” All I wanted was a professional level of customer service and I hope no one else has this experience. Based on my interaction with Chuck, I refuse to patronize this location or this company again. I’m hoping this was an isolated event. Extra Space…you need more “Mike’s”!!

This location offers suitable storage options and the climate-controlled spaces afford ease of mind for long-term storage. Prices were increased $50 with no justification or explanation beyond corporate greed. Unit renters, especially those with large or bulky items, are left to just accept the sudden difference because…of course? Items are essentially held hostage and the cost of taking everything out and relocating elsewhere isn’t justifiable or even feasible for many people. Disappointed that Extra Space Storage would do the classic yet disreputable bait-and-switch, but lesson learned.

Rob Simpson at extra space storage was a dream to work with. I needed two different units within a few days of each other, quickly and he answered all my questions and set me up with no hesitation. Rented a unit online that was supposed to be a 15 x 20 with drive up access. When I arrived I was directed to two interior 10x15 units, when I showed/told staff what I reserved online the staff was rude and I was told the website is terrible and they don't know why corporate insists that people can book online. Based on staff attitude and lack of willingness to offer any drive up access I ended up going to Simply Self Storage down the road (much friendlier and helpful) and you should too!

My movers and I arrived after I paid for the unit and confirmed twice that it would be ready. When I arrived, my gate code worked (so I know I was in the system) but the unit was locked with no key available. It was a Sunday afternoon, so the office was closed. No one answered the emergency line. So, I had to go find another storage unit at the last minute. Thankfully, a place down the street (Advantage Storage) had someone onsite to help me. I was able to get it moved in and just had to pay my movers for an extra 30-45 minutes. ExtraSpace did call the next day, apologize profusely, and refunded my fees without question. The staff sound nice and I think this was an honest mistake. Plus, they did their best to make up for it, so I gave them 2 stars instead of 1. Yet this was very inconvenient and could have been very difficult if I had not found the other alternative.

Quick, Friendly, Clean & Convenient. Good people! Transaction was completed over the phone and via email. Details are explained clearly and you're off to move in. When you’ve inherited family things its sometimes difficult to think objectively on whether or not you really need to keep those items in your life. With time “away” from the stuff, I was able to decide what to donate & what to keep and provided me the “extra space” that I needed to do so. I once misplaced my lock in the unit and had to run before I got locked inside the gate at 10pm (yes it really does lock at 10pm). I intended to call when they opened in the morning to let them know that my unit was closed without a lock. They called me before I had a chance to call them to let me know! Its worth it to me to pay a bit more since they monitor the property so closely. Cant beat the convenient location near 75 as well. Thanks, -A PS- They do a decent job of kindly policing others who might not be considerate when parking cars and moving vans while using the facility. Seeing as most people are trying to get in and out quickly, this is appreciated.

It was such breeze. The pricing is low, unit is clean and very inviting. Chuck was so helpful and even hung around late till I got all my stuff into the unit. I reserved a unit not sure if it was going to work for my needs and showed up the next morning literally as Josh ( manager?) Was opening the door. The guy had not even had his coffee yet but had a great attitude and was wanting to insure my needs could be met by Extra space storage. Chuck and Josh have been so warm and welcoming while move all my samples from a storage facility.its taken five straight days to do it. And today Chuck had to go above and beyond when one of my display racks was too close to the door and kept it from lifting more than 6 inches. Chuck earned his turkey tomorrow and then some. I rent a storage space here and the customer service has been great from the moment I started coming. I purchased a big storage space to keep a lot of big bulk items and storage boxes and containers of stuff I do not need at the moment. I visit once a week to bring some things over or get something I need. Josh Davis is incredible. One afternoon, when I came by, I had to get a new lock because I lost my old set of keys. I purchased a new lock. Quick and easy, he got the old lock off and put a new lock on for me and expressed great customer service. His caring attitude and sense of urgency made me feel happy. Every time I come, he makes sure I am doing well and if I need anything. The other day, I was struggling to close up my storage because my movers did a bad job putting my items in my storage unit. Josh was able to move back some furniture in the unit and close it successfully. This place is amazing and offers some of the best customers service I have ever experienced. They care about their customers. I recommend getting your storage unit here!!

When I arrived Ryan was there with the door open for me. Impressed. The facility is very clean. It's new so I would expect that. We discussed what size unit to rent for my storage needs. I was able to get a great deal on a 5x10 unit with the first month free. Mike the manager was very informative and friendly. After signing Ryan took me to my unit and showed me how to use the lock and how to enter and exit the building and the facility. I felt the customer service was top notch and would recommend this storage facility to my friends.
