Going to be honest this was my first time ever renting a storage unit. Moving from Savannah to Charleston and needed some where to store my things until my apartment is ready. So far so good, unit is priced a little better than some other JXI storage. Lisa, office manager is super nice and helpful. One gripe, they lock down the place right at 20:00 - even if you are still inside - you are locked behind the gate - no way out. And of course, the call manager button on the keypad does nothing, nada, zip. If you get trapped like me - call the national number, they will (after a few minutes), get you an emergency exit code.

I have been renting a temperature controlled unit. In July, when I visited and went to my unit it was clear the AC was not working. I was assured that it would be fixed in a couple of week. A month and half later I revisited and the AC was still not working. The whole building is out and I was told it could take months. If I did not visit, I would have no idea that the climate control was not working. I wonder how many people are in the same boat and have no idea they are paying to store precious items with no climate control.

Rented the unit on Friday. A person I hired to help drove a good sized load to our newly rented unit on Saturday morning. Handle to unit was broken and it could not be opened. A sign in front said due to a staff shortage no one would be present until Monday. Went to the other business on the premises and they knew how to reach the manager and said they would call. But my helper had to drive away with our load of stuff. I also left a phone message and sent an email to my contact. It is now Saturday night. No one has reached out. We lose out on a weekend of storage and I lose out on an hour of hired help. We needed to do this on the weekend, not during the workweek. I am soooo irritated.

The staff is nice, and the facility is fine. Required additional fees on a rental are steep! I signed on to rent a $65 a month unit, then they require a $20 lock that they provide, then they require monthly insurance, (which they provide) Then there's a one time $30 extra charge for administration. So the initial move-in was incredibly high. And the monthly rental isn't exactly what I thought it was going to be either. I thought it was going to be less expensive than other places, but it's not at all.

Love this place! I’ve been using this facility since before it was a Cubesmart location. I was happy before, but I’m elated with the place now. It’s always clean and well maintained. Lisa is absolutely wonderful. Always super helpful and I don’t think I’ve ever seen her without a smile on her face. We could not be happier with our experience and in particular with Rebekah. We had no idea that we would not be able to take our motorcycle onto Kiawah Island and were somewhat frantically, and at the last minute, trying to find a place to store the motorcycle for 3 days. Rebekah helped us to navigate the reservation process while we were on the side of the road and was patient with our many questions. The storage unit was the perfect size for my bike and was located just 10 minutes from the house we were staying in staying in on Kiawah. We will definitely use CubeSmart again and highly recommend!
